Scope focus: Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Objectives of the conference:
• To identify key hurdles faced by the stakeholders and policy makers in terms of screening and prevention.
• To exchange best practices from the region and beyond such as: existing programs, infrastructure and capacities, strategies (examples for integration of HIV/Hepatitis strategies, examples for prevention programs, examples of using EU Structural Funds and others).
• To develop country-specific action plans for initiating and/or accelerating the establishment of national screening and prevention programs.
• To adopt a resolution which will point to the major challenges within the region and provide recommendations for actions. After the event, the recommendations will be disseminated among the participants in the event and the variety of policy makers of EU and national level.
• Link the upcoming presidencies of Romania (January-June 2019) and Croatia (January-June 2020) with the Regional event in Sofia during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
