Jana Feldmane

Head of the Division of Environmental Health Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia

Jana Feldmane is Head of the Environmental Health Division within the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia. Her responsibilities include tasks associated with environmental health risk factors, as well as policy on prevention and control of communicable diseases. One of the main working issues is hepatis and HIV/AIDS control and prevention. Jana Feldmane is coordinator of the National action plan on reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS, hepatis and STI 2018-2020.

Jana Feldmane has obtained a doctor’s degree and graduated from the Latvian Medical Academy (currently known as Riga Stradiņš University) in 1994. Previously she worked for the Public Health Agency and was involved in developing and implementing different international projects. She also has obtained a great experience in developing various policy documents and guidelines working in close cooperation with different international organizations / institutions like the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
